This class is for the owner who is interested in learning some tools to maintain their own horses’ health, human bodyworkers who want to work with equines, and horse professionals who are interested in sustainable ways to assist in the healing of equines. The class aims to foster a holistic view of the horse and people’s
relationship to it through non-force intention. Equine Body Balance balances the
horse’s systems and allows for better functionality.
This class is for the owner who is interested in learning some tools to maintain their own horses’ health, human bodyworkers who want to work with equines, and horse professionals who are interested in sustainable ways to assist in the healing of equines and adding to rehabilitative care. The class aims to foster a holistic view of the horse and people’s relationship to it through non-force intention.
Equine Body Balance balances the horse’s systems and allows for better functionality. It allows people to be more proactive in their horse’s health care by learning how to observe a horse’s condition, and hands-on techniques to address injury, restriction and improve overall movement, health and soundness. Knowledge of what the horse is capable of doing influences how we train and what we can expect from the horse.
Equine Ortho-Bionomy is a an osteopathically-based, nonforce modality that employs the animal’s self-corrective capacity jumpstart the healing process. The principles of Ortho-Bionomy combined with an understanding of the animal you are working leads to successful holistic bodywork practice. Included in the course is the consideration of horses’ relationships within a herd, and where stabled, with nearby equines and how to work safely in these varied settings.

– soft tissue injuries
– structural imbalances
– emotional responses of horses
Equine Ortho-Bionomy embodies principles such as moving in the direction of ease, non-force applications and preferred posture, as well as the consistent understanding of where to be physically in relation to the horse, how to relate and how to address some specific difficulties.
